MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF THE BODY SHOP SKINCARE

Ah hello, back here again with another skincare post!

It's that time of year when the seasons are changing and your face decides to break out - oh the joy! Luckily, The Body Shop has come to save the day. Last week, I was invited down to Brighton to attend a blogger event at The Body Shop where we got to try out various products and ask for beauty advice so I took the opportunity and spoke to one of the lovely ladies about my skin concerns. We discussed how to balance and re-texturize but I also wanted to find a way to combat my cystic acne. Cystic acne is when you get red lumps deep in the skin; they are incredibly sore to touch and are basically a massive pain in the butt! So, after a long chat, I came away with three products to try out. Here is a run down of why they were suggested and how I’m finding them so far.

The first couple of items I was recommended to try were from the Tea Tree range as it’s a known ingredient for fighting against the growth of bacteria. I have used products in the past that include tea tree and never really saw a difference but so far, I reallylike the foaming cleanser! It’s easy to use, as you only need a small amount on damp skin, rubbed in and then washed off again – as simple as that. Sometimes after taking my makeup off, my skin still doesn’t feel squeaky clean so I just wanted a wash to get rid of the remaining dirt and I think it really does the job. I would recommend this to anyone with combination to oily skin and if you’re just looking for a product to make your skin feel fresh and clean.

I have been on the hunt for a spot solution for what feels like forever! I have tried three or four by different brands and they either broke me out or didn’t make a difference so I thought I would test this one out. What I like about this solution is that you don’t have to pop it on one spot; you can apply it all over to keep blemishes at bay. As this is also in the tea tree range, it feels incredibly soothing and leaves my face feeling hydrated and happy. I can’t say I have seen a huge difference in my spots but I have only been using it for a week so I will update you again in a month or so but so far, so good. I would recommend this to anyone who has blemish and spot prone skin!

Now this little beauty is the main reason for writing this blog post. I am SO impressed with this product that I don’t even know where to start. With skincare, you always wish to see something working straight away and that rarely happens until now! This vitamin C peel targets pollutants that are lying on top of your skin so when you have applied it, you will start to see clumps coming to the surface which you can then wash off. The white beads are dead skin cells, is it just me who finds that satisfying? Probably. But if you’re looking for a product that you can literally see working and leaves your skin feeling soft, hydrated and glowing then this is for you! Oh and if you’re wandering past a Body Shop anytime soon, go in and pump some on your hand and massage it in and you will see the magic happen, trust me!

So, that’s all from me on the skincare front! I will definitely update you guys with how I get on. Just want to say a massive thank you to The Body Shop in Brighton; everyone was incredibly friendly and very helpful, I will be back to pop in again soon.

Have you tried any Body Shop products before? I’d love to know what you recommend!

  1. The tea tree foaming cleanser sounds so good I have the gel version of this but haven’t gotten round to using it yet!
